This tea is NOT the popular smoky, darkly roasted Lapsang Souchong black tea, but rather a refreshing, mild Taiwanese oolong made from the same varietal grown locally in Taiwan. This floral, earthy oolong features larger leaves and has a mild sweetness that is reminiscent of longgan with the aroma of osmanthus that is more apparent in early steeps, with a malty aftertaste typical of Taiwanese oolongs.
Its unexpectedly refreshing and sweet flavors bring to mind the transition of spring to summer, slighty sticky in its humidity but floral aromas prominent above its sweetness.
We recommend brewing this tea at 85°C for 2 mins, increasing brew time as you steep. All our teas can be steeped multiple times, so please enjoy your brew for as long as you want.
