This premium grade Long Jing Green Tea is from the HangZhou region, where this tea is traditionally grown in the West Lake in the Long Jing region -- the "Dragon Well". This tea is considered the most famous Chinese tea as its distinct flavors highlight its natural umami freshness. This particular tea was picked before the Qing Ming, which is considered the best time to harvest Long Jing as the change in temperature after Qing Ming causes the tea to lose complexity in flavor.
Longjing tea contains vitamin C, amino acids, and, like most finer Chinese green teas, has high concentrations of catechins.
Brewing this tea is like tasting the harvest itself right as the leaves reach peak ripeness.
As a green tea, this must be brewed at lower temperatures (80-85°C) for 1-3mins in order to avoid scalding the delicate leaves which can bring unwanted astringency. All our teas can be steeped multiple times, so please enjoy your brew for as long as you want.
