This white tea is a first flush tea from a larger-leaf varietal from Jinggu Yang Ta village, thus the larger buds. The name "Bai Mudan" which literally translates to white peony, comes from the resemblance of the fuzzy white buds to the flower. The leaves and buds are withered under the sun then dried under shade, then dried by hot air.
This tea feels like sunbathing on a spring day surrounded by tall grass and wildflowers.
Due to the size of the buds and leaves, a small can contains only 30g while the larger can contains 50g. This is to minimize breaking the flower buds which can compromise the quality of your brews.
We recommend brewing this tea at lower temperatures (75-80°C) for 1min for a light, floral tea, and in succeeding brews a sweet fruitiness comes out as you increase brew time per steep. All our teas can be steeped multiple times, so please enjoy your brew for as long as you want.
